Snazzy Candle Co. logo

SCC was kind enough to send me some beautifully packaged Soy Wax Melts. You’ll remember how much I’m a fan of those from my previous Scentsy post – I love them.

But you know what I love even more? Small sweet natured companies pushing their way out, fighting the giants and saying ‘hey, I’ve got some pretty damn good stuff here!’

That my friends, is Snazzy Candle Co.

They pride themselves on hand making every single thing they sell with top quality wax, scents and colours. Based in Solihull, they even offer free collection if you fancy it! They offer everything from soy wax melts to beautiful candles. You can’t go wrong with these guys. Screen Shot 2016-05-06 at 4.59.25 PM

Plus: everything you order, collection or delivery, comes in it’s own beautiful little origami box.

I cannot praise Snazzy Candle Co. enough! Their customer service was perfection too, and we all know how picky I am with that.

Their smells include Freshly Cut Grass, Strawberry, Sea Breeze, Sweet Pea, Lemon, Coffee Bean & Vanilla – and more! I have to say, my particular favorite was the Grass. Burning for houuuuurs, it filled my room with such sweet aromas, I honestly felt like I was in a meadow on a sunny day. Pair that with a relaxing bubble bath and you’ll forget your troubles momentarily!

Check out their website to see what tickles your tastebuds – or in this case, nostrils…

GBK Chichester Store Opening

GBK Chichester

I was lucky enough to be invited to the GBK Chichester store soft launch, and thought I’d take advantage of this wonderful offer to see my very good friend Emily – who I hadn’t managed to see for about 8 months+! (Never again girl)

First thoughts when I entered was how beautiful it was. I can imagine in the day time it’s gorgeously lit, it has windows from floor to ceiling but still managed to feel intimate with low lighting in the evening. It’s an instagram-worthy interior design but it purposefully doesn’t quite fit into the trend. It’s like they were determined to be close enough but just missing the mark by adding quirky metal milkshake tumblers and txt talk scrabble spellings. I loved it!

Inside of GBK Chichester

I was greeted and led over to my table instantly, handed a menu and it was explained to me that you had to go up to the bar to order.

wait to be seating at GBK

It does strike me as a little odd that you have to go up and order your own drinks/food etc, when the food is so obviously up to such a high standard. I mean, Gourmet Burger Kitchen is literally Gourmet. However, I quickly learnt that the brand also owns Nandos too, which (delicious, and slightly lower budget) applies the same format with guests. I won’t lie to you, it left me a little apprehensive. However, I could not fault the lovely young girl who served me at all. She was enthusiastic, she was smiling, and after a few strategically placed questions, it was clear she knew her menu – impressive at a soft launch. She advised a curious me that lime milkshakes were in fact the bomb, and GBK serves it creamy rather than tangy which is exactly what I wanted. In short, she made me forget just how much I hate bar ordering food. And they had these super cute cups that said ‘tipping isn’t just for cows’ HA!

Social Media Manager Mark had already let us know that most servers that night were newbies to the industry, and had been chucked straight in at the deep end. I was braced for the worst in all honesty. However, it became more and more apparent that the it wasn’t coming. I remember what I was like a few years ago on my first job waitressing – let’s just say I couldn’t have handled it like they did!

GBK Chichester team

There were a few hiccups, like a flustered young lady asking if we’d finished as we paused eating for conversation, or an accidental overlook in not offering us deserts when clearing the mains. No the service wasn’t impeccable. However, the mistakes were quickly rectified or apologised for, and it was apparent that they were only made in a hastened rush of keeping their customers happy. They’re ones that will become habit for staff over time, words that will slip out of their mouths without even having to think about it or actions that muscle memory wouldn’t ever let them forget.

What I couldn’t fault them for was their eager and determined attitude. Each and every single staff member was on the ball. Nothing makes me happier than enthusiastic staff, and it makes the atmosphere so much more pleasant too!

Now, food. GBK had been talked up to me a lot. I was expecting damn good nosh – and gosh did I get it. Baconaise is the new love of my life.

The sweet potato fries were not too thin but not too thick – and neither type of fries were salty. Lush. The beef was offered rare/medium/well done – to be frank if you order a burger and don’t get asked that – well you’re not in the right place. The beef burger was asked for at medium, and came at medium (I’ve recently been watching Hells Kitchen and have a new appreciation for this). My chicken Satay burger was offered grilled or breadcrumbed. The buns were fresh. The salad was fresh. The starters came out quickly. The mains followed perfectly. The Lime milkshakes were just beaut. The lattes were oddly served in short glass tumblers – which is AMAZING. I mean who would think of doing that?!

We were impressed. It’s the kind of place where you don’t mind paying that little bit extra on the food, because it is actually gourmet food. It’s the kind of team where you want to talk to them when ordering some coffees because they’re just so lovely. And also, they’re the kind of company who are so amazing with their social media interactions that you want to give them your money.

GBK Chichester – Thank you for having me – I’ll be back soon.

Stay sassy,

Batiste Blush Dry Shampoo

I only discovered Batiste dry shampoo in the last three(ish) years, and since then I’ve probably used way more than my fair share. Like, waaaaaaaaaaaay more. I remember at one point, when living with my auntie, I was using so much of her dry shampoo that is was driving her mad! Oops! I’ve tried many different brands, Girlz Night Only/Herbal Essences/Aussie/Pantene – I used to buy whichever was on offer so I’ve basically tried out any in Tesco’s stock.

Then I discovered Batiste.

As much as I’m fairly skeptical about Ella Henderson’s ability to spray it right on her hair and then walk into a night club (your hair is grey if you don’t brush it through?!), I have to admit – Batiste is a clear winner.

It regularly in my shopping basket, and always always always on my cosmetic shelf – or floor in front of the mirror as the case may be. Unless you’re one of these freaks who’s hair just never gets greasy – you’re not a freak, I’m just crazy jealous – then you’ve probably got some dry shampoo too, but are you winning with Batiste like I am?!

I have a routine, every morning I shower (obviously), and on day 1 I’ll wash my hair, and day 2 a wonderful Batiste spritz keeps my hair looking and smelling fresh, and me asleep for an extra 15 minutes. I spray it on right after I get out of the shower, leave it on whilst I get dressed and do my face, and then brush it out and shove my hair up in some kind of messy do. I’ve tried the volumising one, which is great when I want to do a messy back combed half up half down high pony tail look, but honestly the simple standard Blush is all you need! It’s great for every look, it keeps your hair smelling fresh, and Russ even asked me if I’d just washed my hair the other day! Result!

Not going to lie to you, in my ill trampy just-want-to-sleep phases, my personal best has been 5 days. Seriously, 5 whole days. On the last day it looked a little dodge, but I reckon 4 days you could easily last on it! My one and only tiny tiny tiny nag, would be that when I buy the 400ml one the last few sprays seem to be just air….so I always stock up on the 200ml one instead.

If you don’t have it in your cupboard(/on your floor), then what are you waiting for?! An extra ten/ twenty minutes in bed in the morning?! What have you got to lose?

Have you tried this product or are you going to after reading this? I’d love to hear from you! Comment below or find me on any of my social media pages.

Hope you’re having a great week!

Stay sassy,

Here we go, second post on my #SassForSale page!

Okay so before I met Charlotte, I had never heard of Scentsy – I’ll be honest. So naturally I did my research. The company dates back to 1979, when Orville Thompson and his wife Heidi set up the company following the passion of safe wax warmers or ‘flameless candles’. It had incredibly humble beginnings, starting up from a 40 foot metal box that was sitting on the family sheep farm in Idaho. in 2004, Orville and Heidi signed their first lease and moved into a 1,800-square-foot warehouse. In June 2006, Scentsy doubled its square footage, moving to a new 5,000-square-foot facility, and by a year later they already needed more space. To cut a long story short they struggled through the hard times and continued to fight for their success. Nowadays they are internationally successful with thousands of sales consultants.

There are few things I respect more than people working hard for success, especially if they’ve been given no leg up to start with.

On a first look, I was stunned by the beauty of the warmers, but apprehensive about just how well they would work. I don’t know about you guys, but I’m a massive candle lover. There’s always many many candles all over my home – I love the smell! First thoughts when I looked into it was that its a fantastic concept, but I was concerned about it not being as effective as the traditional candle.

‘Scentsy are Electric Warmers and scented wax bars, warmed at a low temperature making them a safe alternative to candles etc, and they smell fab!’ – Charlotte Howard

Charlotte is absolutely lovely; she explained all about herself and her products, she helped me choose which warmer I’d like and gave me her personal recommendations.

I felt so eager to try it out! I read reviews and they all sounded wonderful!

Charlotte recommended to me the Tilia Scentsy Warmer Deluxe, and it was beautiful.

Beautifully packaged and beautifully designed.

Charlotte gave me testers of two scents: Coconut Cotton and Bonfire Beach. (Both were gorgeous, but I think Coconut Cotton is my favourite!)

If you’re a candle lover like me, then you’ll have ended up at some point or other with a disappointing ‘vanilla’ or ‘sea breeze’ candle with practically no scent at all. This is not the case with Scentsy at all. Five minutes after turning it on and the fresh aroma has already filled the room. Unlike some other scent/candles (etc), it doesn’t ‘run out’ after a while either.

One wax bar gives up to 80 hours of fragrance per bar (8-10hours per cube) – I kept reusing the same scent over and over. Even after the wax had melted and then set, the next day I just remelted it! Honestly they’re not exaggerating!

It was super easy to clean, all you had to do was wait for the wax to set and cool, and then move it out of the dish with your finger. Literally. That’s it. It’s a no brainer!

Safety has always been an issue with me for candles, so having something so effective  and costly as an alternative could not be better. They’re not warm to touch, in fact they only go up to 52 degrees! To be totally honest, (although I strongly advise not to) had I left the house and accidentally left it on, I wouldn’t have been too panicky about it.

Honestly I just can’t fault it. The warmers start from £28 and range upwards to £50. I know if you’re used to buying £10/20+ candles it sounds like a lot, but how quickly do candles burn out? And how often do you have to buy new ones? With this you can buy the warmer just once, and change the waxes as often as you please (£5.50) – which definitely last waaaaay longer than candles. And to make it even better, there’s always little deals on so you can save a few pennies! It’s just fabulous!

So… cost effective, smells delicious, safe, beautifully designed….

What’s not to love?!

It’s got my stamp of approval! (In fact I love it so much I’m considering joining the team and starting to sell my own)

#1 OXO Good Grips Electronic Cleaning Brush

As promised, this is the first post in my new #SassForSale page where you’ll find all my product reviews. Just to be clear, I’m far too sassy to lie about it, so these views will be my own. If I don’t like it, trust me when I say it’ll be stated very clearly.

Firstly, this product came with a handwritten note, which I adore. On the packaging it’s displayed cleaning a laptop, a watch, a phone and a camera – so I figured a good start would be to use it to clean my prize possession – La MacBook. My Mac is literally treated like its my child, I bought it last year after wanting one foreverrrrr, it’s placed very carefully on its shelf after use and ALWAYS kept in its protective cover. However, as you technology users know, it still gets dusty and dirty, no matter how much you care for it.

I’m always careful what I put on it, as obviously they’re expensive, so if cleaned with the wrong product disaster can strike. The hardest bit to clean, for me at least, is my keypad. I’m always tempted to just use a baby wipe but seriously…what if the moisture ruins the letters? Or gets inside the keyboard? What if it kills my Mac?!?!

The brush comes with two ends – a silicon slanted wiper (which is protected by a plastic cover when not in use) and soft bristled brush (which handily retracts for storage!). It’s neat, it’s small, and you could easily put it in your bag for travelling. For example, when I next take my camera on a shoot, I’ll be popping it right next to it in my camera bag.

So here’s my test –

First I used the slanted rubber end to go in between the keys. Wow. I didn’t realise just how dirty mine was. Gross.

I don’t even think this photo shows just how disgusting it was. Seriously gross. Then I used the soft bristled brush to go in between the hinge.

Again filthy, although the below photo doesn’t quite show it:

And it’s £6.50. That’s it. £6.50?! Madness! It’s good quality, it’s small, and it’s incredibly handy. I also double checked it against my camera and that soft bristled brush is perfect for getting dust off of your camera lense, and soft enough not to scratch!

Head over to to purchase this product, it certainly has Courage Is Not An Option’s stamp of approval! I hope to be writing more reviews for this wonderful company very soon.

As a side note, if you or anyone else would like my stamp of approval then please don’t hesitate to get in contact, waither through my blog, twitter, facebook, tumblr or even email me at
